Mljet, Konavle and Dubrovnik Coastal Region tradition presented in New York

At the Croatian Center in New York Ane Mljecka opened a very special exhibition on Sunday, named 'Croatian Cultural Heritage – Traditional Embroderies and Folk Costumes of the Dubrovnik Region: Mljet, Konavle and Dubrovnik Coastal Region'.

The exhibition was opened with Ivan Gundulic's famous Hymn of Freedom and it was emphasized that nation is not preserved with weapons, but with it's culture and tradition.
Culture and tradition of the Dubrovnik region was proudly presented at this event with embroderies sent by Dubrovnik association 'Desa', beautiful photos from the museum in Konavle and Dalmatian music. The wine list was filled with wines from the wider Dubrovnik area, the Folklore Group 'Hrvatska Ruza' danced 'Lindo'.

The exhibition and presentation were organized by Ane Mljecka and Tatjana Bistra and were visited by a large number of Croats in New York and their American friends as well!
