The fourth Dubrovnik Winter Festival is just around the corner – it will be opened on Saturday, December 2nd and its highlights were presented today at a press conference.
The Stradun is going to be the most beautiful stage in the world once again this year. The novelty is that even shop windows on the main street will be decorated, so it should shine even brighter.
The lighting of the first Advent candle in front of the Cathedral at 7:30 pm on Saturday will mark the start of this year’s festival. The night will continue in front of Saint Blaise Church – holiday lights will be turned on and Gibonni, a famous Croatian pop singer, will have a concert. This is just the first of many concerts that will be held during the festival.
WHAT'S NEW THIS YEAR
There are more novelties – a big Christmas concert will be held at Valamar Lacroma by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and their guests just few days before Christmas – December 22nd.
The famous teddy bear decoration will get some special company – a sister. You will be able to visit them all in the teddy bear park, located at park Pile, where some interesting programmes will be held – heaven for children, for sure! There is also a teddy bear mascot, that could be seen on the press conference today. Everybody wanted to take a photo with it!
A festive programme will be held on Brsalje and Gundulic Square, the bay of Lapad and Mokosica, and it will be accompanied by a rich cultural programme.

It's important to know that all the buses will be free after 5pm during the festival. There will also be a special line ''XMAS BUS'', that will connect all the locations of the festival. For the youngest there is an ''XMAS TRAIN'' that will go through the Bay of Lapad – from the ice skating rink to the fun fair.

- The one in Zagreb is far more bigger, but we think that with our content and quality, we have no competition in Croatia – said Frankovic and emphasized that all the parts of the city are included in this year's festival and that 450 thousand Kuna was spent on decorations.
This New Year's Eve is expected to be the best one yet with regional superstar Dino Merlin. The Mayor said that bookings are already higher because everybody want to welcome 2018 in Dubrovnik.
