During filming for ''The Grand Tour Season 2'' on Amazon Prime, Richard Hammond, the former TV host of the BBC popular TV show ''Top Gear'', crashed Rimac's Concept One.
A few days ago, Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson participated in a hill climb race in Switzerland. The Rimac's electric supercar was tested by the crew of The Grand Tour against two other supercars. According to the Swiss and British media, Hammond was driving the Rimac Concept One electric car and landed off the road. However, Hammond came out of the car and climbed back to the road before Concept One was devoured by the fire.
In the meantime, Mate Rimac, the founder and the CEO of Rimac Automobili, wrote on his Facebook profile, ''Just spoke to Richard. He is back home tomorrow. Can't wait until he speaks out''.
Even though ''it was the biggest crash and the most frightening one'', as Clarkson commented, fortunately, Hammond did not suffer any life-threatening injuries. Just to remind you, Rimac Automobili is a reputable Croatian manufacturer company of high- performance electric cars. At the latest Geneva Motor Show 2017, the company introduced its refreshed model of the Concept One electric car.
The improved version of Concept One now has 1224 HP, it accelerates from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in 2,5 seconds, it has a larger battery of 90 kWh, the autonomy of 349 km and a top speed of 354 km/h.
